Acuity Care Group is a leading specialist provider in Learning Disabilities and Autism services to individuals throughout the UK. We support both adults & children with long term support needs.
 

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the set up and mobilisation of new care packages and for the ongoing maintenance of services for a range of individuals with varying requirements, focusing on the Cornwall region. You will be facilitated by a team of Support Workers and supported by the Operations Manager for your region.
 

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working as part of a regional team, this is a fast-paced diverse role involving regular contact with individuals, their families, CCG’s, and clinicians, to ensure that person-centred care is never compromised, and compliance standards are diligently adhered to.
 

To be successful in the role, you will need to have a genuine passion for delivering high standards of care and be committed to really making a difference to the people we support. You will have strong people management skills and have experience in learning disability and/or autism, mental health, and complex care. You will need to be able to work at a fast pace, have a good understanding of the have excellent time-management skills and be an effective communicator.
 
You will also be required to participate in an on-call rota to provide out of hours support to people we support and staff for your area. Travel to people we support in your region and quarterly visits to our Nottingham Head Office is also required. 
 
 This role will develop further due to growth in the area. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Recruiting and inducting Support Workers
  • Supervising and supporting your teams
  • Attending regular meetings with your clients, CCG contacts, peers and management
  • Rota planning
  • Carrying out risk assessments
  • Delivering training to team members
  • Coordinate set up of new care packages
  • Incident management, investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Providing regular reports and updates
  • Cover shifts to support clients

 

Skills, knowledge & experience:

 

  • Experience of managing multiple care packages including rota planning
  • Expertise and knowledge of working with learning disability and/or autism, mental health, and complex care.
  • The ability to carry out assessments and devise care plans and risk assessments
  • The ability to carry out and document risk assessments
  • Experience of leading and managing a team 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to organise a busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • A working knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance within the care industry
  • Level 4 or 5 diploma in Health & Social Care
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to understand financial data and experience of managing budgets
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
