Support Worker
Pay rate: £ 14.78 - £15.29 (weekly pay)
Shift Pattern: 08:00 - 21:00 Days (13 hour shifts)

We've got a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in Penzance. Our client is a mature man with a C4-C5 Spinal Injury following an accident some years ago. He lives at home with his wife and son in the Long Rock, Penzance area. 

He Suffers from Autonomic Dysreflexia and is keen to get out as much as possible, he has purchased a mobility van so would like carers who are drivers on the team to be able to take him out. Your role is key in helping him achieve this - meeting his medical, personal care and day-to-day assistance needs. You will work alone and as part of a team, operating on shifts to provide 24/7 care.

Key Responsibilities
Support Workers cover all manners of support for others - from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping.

Support with all facets of daily living.

Support with all aspects of daily living

Personal Care including Bowel care

Catheter care

Medication

Foster a supportive and inclusive environment.

Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times.

Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members.

confidentiality and respect privacy.

Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided.

Aid with light household chores which may include cooking, cleaning.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Ability to effectively communicate with individuals requiring care.

Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Empathy, patience, and compassion when interacting with individuals in need of support.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying care needs.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Willingness to undergo additional training and development as required.
