Pay rate: £12.50 - £13.50  (monthly pay)
Shift Pattern: 08:00 - 20:00 
Requirements: Full UK Driver's Licence.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide VISA sponsorship and we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in/around the Doncaster area and able to commute.

We are seeking a professional, empathetic, and reliable Complex Care Worker to provide dedicated support to a gentleman living with a spinal cord injury in Bessacarr, Doncaster. This role involves delivering highly personalised care, including personal and medical care, to promote independence and enhance his quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

As a Complex Care Worker, you will assist the client with a range of daily living tasks and medical needs, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity. The position involves providing personal care, including specialist bowel management support, and assisting with mobility, health monitoring, and accessing meaningful activities.

Personal Care & Hygiene:

  • Assist with dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting, ensuring the client’s dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Provide bowel management, including administering rectal medication, digital stimulation, or manual evacuation (training provided if needed).

Medical Support:

  • Administer medications as prescribed.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health or well-being.
  • Support with respiratory care or catheter care (if applicable).

Nutritional Support:

  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding in line with dietary needs and preferences.
  • Ensure hydration and nutritional intake are monitored and maintained.

Moving and Handling:

  • Assist with safe transfers using mobility aids, such as hoists or wheelchairs.
  • Help with positioning to ensure comfort and prevent pressure sores.

Physiotherapy and Exercise:

  • Support the client with passive exercises, stretches, or other physiotherapy activities as advised by health professionals.

Lifestyle & Social Engagement:

  • Accompany the client to appointments, social activities, and hobbies, ensuring they remain engaged in meaningful pursuits.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.

Household Tasks:

  • Perform light domestic duties related to the client’s care, such as laundry, tidying, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who can provide high-quality, person-centered care while respecting the client’s independence and preferences.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in complex care, particularly with spinal injury clients.
  • Knowledge of personal care, including bowel management techniques (training can be provided).
  • Proficiency in moving and handling, including the use of mobility aids.
  • Ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant health or social care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Training or experience in bowel management.
  • First aid and basic life support certification.
  • Full, clean driving license (preferred but not essential).
