Rehabilitation Assistant
Pay rate: £ 13.00 (weekly pay)
Shift Pattern: 8:00am - 7:00pm
Requirements: Full UK Driver's License.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide VISA sponsorship and we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in/around the Doncaster area and able to commute.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant to support an individual recovering from a brain injury, with a focus on helping them participate in their favourite outdoor and physical activities. The individual enjoys rock climbing, cycling, gardening, going to the gym, and staying physically active, so this role is ideal for someone who shares a passion for fitness and the outdoors.
While we welcome all applicants, this role may be particularly suited to a young male to align with the individual's active lifestyle, though this is not essential. The ideal candidate should be passionate about fitness and able to provide physical and emotional support
Key Responsibilities
- Rehabilitation Support: Helping the individual carry out physical and cognitive therapy programs as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Fitness and Outdoor Activity Support: Assisting and encouraging the individualto safely participate in:
- Rock climbing: Providing support with preparation and safety during climbing.
- Cycling: Assisting with cycling outings and ensuring safety.
- Gym routines: Supporting with workouts and gym exercises.
- Cognitive Stimulation: Engaging in activities and exercises designed to enhance cognitive recovery.
- Social and Recreational Activities: Facilitating other outings and activities to promote well-being.
- Medication Management: Administering medications and ensuring adherence to medical treatment plans.
- Progress Monitoring: Keeping detailed records of the individual's progress and liaising with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Emotional Support: Providing motivation, encouragement, and companionship throughout the rehabilitation process.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience: Ideally experience in rehabilitation, brain injury care, or a related healthcare role but not essential. We will fully train you
- Skills: Understanding of physical and cognitive rehabilitation techniques, with a focus on supporting active and outdoor pursuits.
- Driver’s License: A valid UK driver’s license is required for transportation to appointments and activities.
- Personal Attributes: Physically fit, enthusiastic, and capable of motivating and supporting the individual in their active lifestyle.
- Right to Work: Must have the right to work in the UK (if applicable).
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with individuals recovering from brain injuries.
- Knowledge or personal interest in fitness, rock climbing, cycling, and other outdoor activities.
- First aid, CPR, and manual handling certifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
